WLP10gR3 - Special character ">" Is not Handled Correctly by the WYSIWYG Editor (Doc ID 887085.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 06, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Portal - Version 9.2.0 to 10.3.0 [Release Weblogic Platform to AS10gR3]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When creating HTML content via the WYSIWYG editor in the VCR (virtual content repository), adding the special character ">" to the ALT attribute, within an IMG tag automatically results in the SRC attribute being updated to a fully qualified URL (http://hostp:port).

For example:

<img src="happy.gif" alt="Happy Face : >" />

Will result in:

<img src="http://<HOST>:<PORT>/happy.gif"... />
