Purpose
The document provides insight into the management of the oid processes, specifically the ods_process table within the 10g OID database and the ods_process_status table within the 11g OID database.
Scope
This information should be used when troubleshooting problems with OID processes not starting or processes being up when opmnctl shows them down, etc.
Many support engineers customarily direct the truncating of the ods_process/ods_process_status table. This should NOT normally be done. This document explains why.
