Tuxedo:Can SNMP Community String Be Changed From 'PUBLIC' (41200545)? (Doc ID 967357.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 08, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Tuxedo - Version 9.1 to 9.1
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Customer does not use SNMP with Tuxedo. However, there are SNMP configuration files included in the installation.

Customer security has noted that these files have a community string with the default value of 'Public'.

As customer does not use SNMP, the question is whether if these configuration files can be removed without impacting Tuxedo?  Can the default value of 'Public' be changed  to some other value?

The following files are involved.
               ./tuxedo9.1/udataobj/snmp/etc/beamgr_snmpd.conf
               ./tuxedo9.1/udataobj/snmp/etc/beamgr.conf
