The Application Server Control Performance screen for an OC4J container displays the following JDBC connection pool metrics:

• Open JDBC Connections
• Total JDBC Connections

These metrics may be of use during performance testing, however the Application Server Control screen only provides a point in time view of these metrics, and cannot provide a view of the JDBC connection pool over time.

This document shows how JDBC connection pool metrics can be gathered over time using the dmstool utility.
