Incorrect Datatypes and Missing Data when Reverse Engineering Delimited Flat Files from OBIEE and ODI (Doc ID 972726.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to set up Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) Datastores in OBIEE for a delimited flat file, the Reverse Engineering operation results in the correct number of columns with identical String datatypes.

Moreover, when attempting to consult the data in the flat file using the right click > Data menu-item no data is observed although the file does in fact contain data.

Is there a problem with ODI here ?
