Applies to:

Goal

The goal of this document is to  provide a solution when unable to retry and process an LDAP Import from Staging control.

1.- Prepare the LDAP import in the screen (for Group).
2.- Request the Sync.
3.- Disconnect the LDAP Server, when the Staging Control is in PENDING status.
4.- Wait.
5.- Staging Control has reached the ERROR status for first time.
6.- Connect the LDAP Server.
7.- Try to update From ERROR to PENDING.
8.- The BUG is present with NullPointerException in the Logs.
(Appears its looking for a Message Attached in Staging Control record, when the error is unknown).

Analysis of Issue:

The error condition of not being able to connect to the LDAP server was not correctly handled. An attempt was made to update the Staging Control status to error but this is rolled back then the subsequent exception is thrown.
Make sure to commit this update. Additionally, the staging control maintenance class was not correctly handling updates with respect to the Staging Control Parameter list that resulted in the parameter list being cleared.
