Symptoms
- After installing PPM 8.x, 9.x or 15.x, PPM Service and Function service hang on start up.
- When attempting to connect to a PPM database in the PPM Console, the message 'Login failed' is displayed.
- Error in prosight.log: ORA-1005: null password given; logon denied
- When attempting to add a new connection (using the PPM Console) to an Oracle database using TNS, the following error occurs. Note that the database can be pinged from the PPM application server and the db can be connected to via sqlplus. Further, the user (specified in the connection) was created using the Oracle Database Configuration Utility which indicates that the user 'PPM' exists and is properly configured.
