PIbeClient Timeouts Reported in SYSLOG on SMS (Service Management System) (Doc ID 1204613.1)

Symptoms

PI (Provisioning Interface) on SMS (Service management System) reports numerous error messages indicating that PI is not receiving a response back from the Vouchers and Wallet Servers (VWS) quick enough.

Example errors from the syslog or /var/adm/messages on SMS:
Sep 10 12:01:56 usms01 PIbeClient: [ID 675952 user.error] PIbeClient(9208) ERROR: In last 10 seconds 6 messages sent to primary BE 1 timed out.
This error indicates a timeout. Alternatively, you may receive this additional error:
Sep 10 12:01:56 usms01 PIbeClient: [ID 675952 user.error] PIbeClient(9208) ERROR: In last 10 seconds we received 6 orphaned responses from primary BE 1.


This error indicates that the VWS responded, but the PIbeClient had timed out already. Below diagram illustrates the PIbeClient timeout with following assumptions:

On VWS's eserv.config (BE.beServer.purge section):
vws01$ less /IN/service_packages/eserv.config

       vwarsTimeout = 30
<snipped>

On SMS's eserv.config (pi.PIbeClient section):
sms01$ less /IN/service_packages/eserv.config
