commadmin user create (or modify) - "5045:Domain part of email address does not match with the domain name" (Doc ID 1321287.1)

Last updated on MAY 31, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Delegated Administrator - Version 6.4 and later
Oracle Communications Calendar Server - Version 7.0 (JCS 7) and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When commadmin creates or modifies a mail address (mail: attribute), the value is validated. There are several checks, including a comparison of the FQDN of the mail address with the parent domain/organization's valid mail-accepting FQDNs.

If the email address is not within a mail domain assigned to the domain/organization, then an error is returned:

5045:Domain part of email address does not match with the domain name

Changes

This problem usually occurs when creating the first user in a new domain/organization in the DIT.

This error can appear after an upgrade, if the upgrade inadvertently changed the domain's configuration.
