Users Getting No Response to IMAP Select Inbox (Doc ID 1366155.1)

Symptoms

Some user's mail clients appear to hang.  Further investigation reveals that the IMAP "select inbox" command is hanging:


There was no response at this point.

Restarting the message store clears the problem, but it comes back eventually.

Changes

The customer was using an intermediate proxy system other than the Messaging Server MMP component.
