Balance Type Funds are Available for Use on Voucher Wallet Server (VWS) After the Fund's Expiry Date is Past (Doc ID 1387952.1)

Last updated on JULY 26, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 4.4.0 to 4.4.1 [Release 4.4]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Subscribers are able to use their expired Balance Type funds on the Network Charging and Control's Billing and Rating Engine solution, or Voucher Wallet Server (VWS).

When the BeClient queries the beServer for IR (Initial Reservation) and/or SR (Subsequent Reservation), the VWS does not check whether the Balance Type bucket is past its expiry date before granting the reservation.

A Balance Type is a type of value unit (such as General Cash ($), Free SMS, or Data MB) that can be made up of one or more Buckets to give its total value.  A Balance Type's Buckets can have different values and times of expiry.
