Symptoms

The rehostuser command fails with SEGV on one system and works fine on another system.

Running pstack on the core file shows a stack like:

 ffffffff7dc3c730 strlen (10024e690, ...
 ffffffff7eb88db0 lpool_search_getvals (10024e690, ...
 ffffffff7ed1da70 userattr_get_attrs (ffffffff7ffff780, ...
 0000000100002420 main (9, ...
 00000001000017fc _start (0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0) + 17c

The problem may seem random.  It may work one time and not another.  It may work on some systems and not others.
