Imsrestore of a User Takes a Very Long Time to Complete (Doc ID 1457616.1)

Symptoms

Imsbackup for a certain mail user ( approx. 2.3GB, 64K mails across many folders) takes about 8 minutes, while doing a restore on a T4-2 with zfs and separate zpools for messages and indices currently takes 80 minutes to complete.

As we are moving users from an old system to a new one, it will take months to move all users over.

When running the DTrace script - procsystime, we see the following interesting timing being reported :

Of the 17 minutes runtime, 16.5 minutes went to fdsync.

The kernel and ZFS patch level are on this Solaris 10, Update 10 :
