imsimta -test -rewrite -debug, DELIVERY_OPTIONS, and mailDeliveryOption (Doc ID 1496300.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 27, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 6.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

When you need to see how the MTA processes an email address, you can use:

  imsimta test -rewrite <recipient-email-address>

When you need to see in much more gorey detail, use:

  imsimta test -rewrite -debug <recipient-email-address>

The "imsimta test -rewrite" command also has the following switches, which may be necessary if the processing may differ based on source information:

   -from=<source-email-address>
   -source_channel=<source-channel>

But those were not necessary in this case.  In this case, we are focusing on DELIVERY_OPTIONS and mailDeliveryOption for LMTP.

This output is very similar to that written to the slave_debug log files when MM_DEBUG is set to 5 or higher.
