Invalid Department Passed To WAM By The Fieldwork PIP When Account String Does Not Use Department and Area Indicated By Error Stating "FIELD WORKDEPARTMENT value is not valid" (Doc ID 1496841.1)

Last updated on JULY 27, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Process Integration Pack for Oracle Utilities Field Work - Version 3.1 and later
Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management - Version 1.9.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The client's defined WAM account string does not use Department and Area.  The Fieldwork PIP is always passing a department value with Service Requests so the account fails validation.  This occurs even though OU_WAM_01 is null and OU_WAM_05 has a valid value in the DVM.

The error encounterd with this issue when a value exists in FS_ORDER_OPERATIONSAREA field OU_WAM_01 states:

As a workaround, default values can be added but it is generally impractical to add Department and Area to all accounts.
