How to Configure Security Permissions for UIM Users. (Doc ID 1501009.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 07, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management - Version 7.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

If the permission is not set properly for UIM user the home page after login will look as below with no clickable links available:

The issue can be verified with the following error in the UIM log:

<Warning> <oracle.adf.share.security> <BEA-000000><WARN_NO_USERS_PATTERN oracle.security.idm.ObjectNotFoundException: No User found matching the criteria

The above error suggests that the user has no access except the ability to log in to UIM.

All users are assigned to a default role called authenticated-role. This role grants no access except the ability to log in to UIM. A user with only this level of access can view the UIM home page, but cannot view any other UIM pages or take any actions.

Another default role, uimuser, grants super user permissions. Users assigned to this role can access all UIM pages and actions.

You use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) to create roles and to assign users / groups to them. You can also update existing roles by adding and removing users.
