Last updated on FEBRUARY 08, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Order and Service Management - Version 7.0.3 to 7.0.3 [Release 7.0.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The Software Requirements section1 of Oracle Communications Order and Service Management Installation Guide for release 7.0.3 requires users to procure JDeveloper to create Oracle Communications Order and Service Management (OSM) domains.
JDeveloper was bundled with OSM as recommended by the Oracle Fusion Middleware team when OSM 7.0.3 was released.

The following is an excerpt from that documentation:

WebLogic Server 11gr1 (10.3.1), included in JDeveloper 11.1.1.1, for use with Windows XP and Internet Explorer 7
or
WebLogic Server 11gr1 (10.3.3), included in JDeveloper 11.1.1.3, for use with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8Oracle WebLogic Server
Clustering with the OSM Clustering module may also be used.
Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.1) is included in the OSM software media pack.

After OSM 7.0.3 was released, it was understood that there is no upgrade path for WebLogic Server 10.3.1 (and later) if it was installed by the JDeveloper installer.

OSM customers who have installed WebLogic Server 10.3.1 (and later) using the JDeveloper installer and have created WebLogic Server 10.3.1 (and later) domains using the WebLogic version bundled with JDeveloper 11.1.1.3 cannot upgrade directly to WebLogic Server 10.3.3.
