"Error Sending Message" SMTP Email Notification When Attempting to Send an Email Alert from a PPM Module (Doc ID 1549073.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to send an email alert from a PPM Module (ex. Scorecard > Collaborate > Send Page), the 'Send Mail' dialog is displayed but after clicking 'Send' the following error occurs.

Message from webpage.
Error sending message.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log into PPM and navigate to a Module.
  2. Select Collaborate > Send Page from the menu.
  3. Enter a recipient in the To field then click Send.
