Imarchive Command Does Not Delete Emails

Symptoms
The imarchive command does not delete emails.
When moving from Messaging Server (MS) 6.3 to Oracle Communications Messaging Server 7u4-25.01(7.0.4.25.0) 64bit (built Apr 24 2012), the imarchive command does not support the "delete" option; it only flags emails as archived.
How can I remove emails in the message store that have been archived using the imexpire command with the archive option?
I understand that the imarchive command apparently only now marks the message as archived or will stub the message. But, why does the imexpire command not remove/discard the email in the message store when using the archive attribute in the command.
Example:
The messages are archived ok, but they are not marked for deletion. I am using the operational archiving mode to move messages to our AXS:One archiver and then need to remove the archived messages from the store. How can I accomplish this ?
