Goal

In production environment, sometimes they notice that a given production instance freezes (and sometimes ends up crashing) due to the garbage collection being made.

The problem identified with the GC has been identified as a cause for some crashes that they had in their production environment during normal workday hours, thus affecting the end-users SLAs.
