Symptoms

Running Calendar Server 7.3-8.19

When inserting an EMOJI* in the summary of an event, an error: java.sql.SQLException is raised and the event is not added to the calendar.

We see the following in the /var/opt/sun/comms/davserver/logs/errors.0 log:

*Emoji is the Japanese term for the ideograms or smileys used mostly in Japanese electronic messages and webpages.
