Last updated on NOVEMBER 15, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Messaging Server - Version 7.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
On Linux systems /tmp is part of a normal file system, while on Solaris this is a memory mapped filesystem.

Goal

When reviewing the contents of /tmp, the following entries were found :

/tmp/.var_opt_sun_comms_messaging64_config.dispatcher.socket

and

/tmp/.var_opt_sun_comms_messaging64_config.dispatcher.*.<pid>

For example:

Are these defined somewhere in the Messaging Server configuration? Can the path be changed?

Is there any negative performance impact since these files are on normal filesystem on Linux?
