When Composing New Mail and Searching Contact in Personal Address Book, Only Work Email Address Is Selectable
(Doc ID 1604079.1)
Last updated on APRIL 07, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 2.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Using Convergence 2 patch-06, and lower.
When composing a new mail, and searching in the personal address book for a user which has several email addresses, only the 'work' email address can be selected.
If this contact has, for example, a home email address, you cannot select it during the search.
When doing the same within Communication Express (aka UWC), you will get a list with all the email addresses of this contact.
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
- Go into Convergence's personal address book and look for a contact with multiple email addresses, eg, work and home,
or create such a contact. - Go back to the mail tab and hit 'Write' to start composing a new mail
- There are two ways of adding an email address here
- On the 'To' line, start typing a part of the name of this contact with multiple email addresses.
Only the main email address (work) is shown. - Another possibility: hit the address book icon at the end of the 'To' line
Only the main email address is shown, even if you search for something specific in the contact's home email address.
- On the 'To' line, start typing a part of the name of this contact with multiple email addresses.
Due to this issue, users cannot directly send mail to a user's alternative email address.
They first need to go to the personal address book, search for the user there and then select the preferred email address.
