Applies to:

Oracle Communications ASAP - Version 7.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Answer  a question regarding the Use of a Compound parameter within a compound parameter.

While creating compound parameters within another compound parameter, ASAP Design Studio gives error as "Activation Run time type is invalid". When we try to define run time type of compound parameter as COMPOUND, Design Studio doesn't allow this .

1- Can we create Compound Parameters within Compound Parameters. For Example: Device (a compound parameter)> MAC Address (Scalar parameter within Device), IPADDRESSES(Compound parameter within Device)> IPAddress (scalar parameter within IPAddresses) ?
2- If yes, how can this be supported ?
3- If no, then how we can achieve our requirement ?
