Symptoms

The Provisioning Interface's (PI) debug on/off commands are rejected with a "NACK,87-COMMAND SYNTAX ERROR" when connecting to a PI MML port over telnet, as shown below:

The PI debug command syntax is correct.  Refer to <Document 1228724.1>: Dynamically Switch Debug Output On and Off for Provisioning Interface (PI) Commands
