Symptoms

MetaSolv Solution users report "data-related error occurred" errors (see below) throughout the application and cannot perform their work even after restarting the application server.  Clicking the "Details" button shows a "java.sql.SQLException: Connection has been administratively destroyed. Reconnect." message.  This message is also logged to the appserverlog.xml file.  A user also reported the application crashed with an "Error Number 2" when attempting to assign a circuit in Connection Design (see below).

The machine hosting the database instance was retired and the instance moved to a new host machine.
