Error: "Bad Public Username or Password. Login Timeout Expired" When Connecting to a P6 SQL Server Database

On : version, Desktop Client Installation / Login

When attempting to login to P6, the following error occurs:



Unable to Connect to the database.

When attempting to connect to the db using using the database configuration tool, the following error occurs:

Bad public username or password. Login timeout expired

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Attempt to login to the P6 Professional Client
2. "AVAA0-3822-8" or "Unable to Connect to the database" occurs
3. Attempt to configure connection to the db using database configuration
4. Type in public user name/password
5. "Bad public username or password. Login timeout expired" occurs

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot login to P6 to manage projects.

"Oracle will not accept my password"
