Unable To Remove Shared Elements From Network Systems (Doc ID 1986168.1)

Last updated on JUNE 22, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Communications MetaSolv Solution - Version 6.0.16 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

If a Network Element is used in more than one network systems, then the user  cannot delete the shared element from one network system even though it is  not part of any connection in that network system or any other network system  where it is embedded. The issue occurs specifically when the other network  systems where this element is used are embedded in some other network and the  shared element is part of some connection in that network.

For Example: Suppose the shared element is used in 2 network systems say, NS1  and NS2. NS1 is embedded in another network system, say NS3 and NS2 is embedded in  NS4. There exists a relationship to the shared element in NS4 where NS2 is  embedded. In Such a scenario, the application does not allow the user to  remove the shared element from NS1 even though it doesn't have any connections in NS1 or NS3 where it is embedded.
