Symptoms

When attempting to launch the setup wizard (setup.exe) to install P6 on a Windows 8 Operating System, the following error occurs.

ERROR
Error: OUI-10021: The target area C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\inventory\is being written to by another session. A read lock cannot be obtained.

 


BUSINESS IMPACT
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot install Primavera P6.
