Substring Search Fails with Autocomplete While Composing (Doc ID 1995616.1)

Symptoms

While composing an email, when you enter a partial word in the "To:" field, if it is not from the beginning of a user address, the search will not find any results.  
However, a search by the initial letters of the address is possible.

For  example, if you have a user named "test.user" and you enter "test" in the "To:" field, the test.user@<DOMAIN> entry will be found.  But, if instead, you enter "user" in the "To:" field for the same user, you will not get any search results back.
