Last updated on NOVEMBER 12, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control - Version 5.0.1 to 5.0.3 [Release 5.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control, there is a known issue with the BeClient running on the Service Logic Controllers (SLCs).  The BeClient is crashing and leaving behind a core file shortly after logging messages similar to the following:

Aug  7 01:12:08.199556 BeClient(13577) NOTICE: In last 10 seconds 541 requests where rejected due to BE congestion
...
Aug  7 01:15:48.214762 BeClient(13577) NOTICE: In last 10 seconds 14 requests where rejected due to BE congestion

Congestion typically occurs on the Voucher Wallet Servers (VWS') when they are overloaded but can also appear when a VWS node is restarted and all the billing traffic fails over to the second VWS node.

Changes

VWS restart or any significant load increase.
