Event Invitation which includes an LDAP Group Cannot Be Accepted By Attendees

Symptoms
An invitation Mail coming from an organizer who uses a calendar group as attendee cannot be accepted by the attendee.
LDAP group is call uni and has martha and ian as the members of the group
log in as chester
create new event and invite LDAP group called uni
login as ian
open invitation mail
The event has ian as the organiser instead of the correct organiser which should be chester
accept button is greyed out
and a note to say you are the organiser so no need to respond to the invitation.
This means there is no way for ian who is a member of the LDAP group uni to respond to the invitation
