Purpose
Terminal Patch
At Oracle Retail, a terminal patch describes a final patch for an enterprise release. Customers will continue to be supported under the terms and conditions of the Oracle Retail Lifetime Support Policy after a terminal patch, with hotfixes being the primary release mechanism to receive updates. In exceptional circumstances, there could be another patch released thereafter. Oracle Retail will communicate this message via appropriate channels.

Disclaimer: For patches which are yet to be released, GA dates are subject to change at Oracle’s discretion.
Grace Period
In every product release, each patch is supported with error corrections until the next patch is released. Once the new patch is released, the grace period for the old patch is intended to provide customers adequate support and time to plan the installation of a new patch.
