How is ‘Case Serious: Notes' Automatically Updated in the ‘Case Analysis’ Tab?

If a criteria (Death, Hospitalized, Life-Threatening, etc.) is checked for an Event which will cause the system to evaluate the event as "serious" (Case Serious = 'Yes' on the Analysis tab), when will the Case Serious Notes on the Analysis tab be updated automatically?
