Symptoms

When attempting to run a job service, the job fails and the following errors are logged:

ERROR
-----------------------
Summarize log from within P6 shows:

CannotGetJdbcConnectionException: Could not get JDBC Connection; nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: Establish connection error.

P6WebAccess.html server log file shows:

ERROR com.primavera.infr.db.SQLConnectionPool - Lease request timeout while waiting 30 seconds for a connection to become available. Database <$databasename>, Pool=PMR
com.primavera.common.exceptions.LeaseRequestWaitTimeoutException: Lease request timeout while waiting 30 seconds for a connection to become available. Database <$databasename>, Pool=PMR

AND/OR

ERROR com.primavera.infr.db.SQLConnectionPool - Lease request timeout while waiting 30 seconds for a connection to become available. Database <$databasename>, Pool=PML
com.primavera.common.exceptions.LeaseRequestWaitTimeoutException: Lease request timeout while waiting 30 seconds for a connection to become available. Database <$databasename>, Pool=PML

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Run a summarization project scheduled service
  2. When the job fails:
    • Note the error which is logged in the log file from within P6 for the job
    • Note the associated error in the P6WebAccess.html log file for the job
