Indexing Slows Down During the ProductCatalogOutputConfig Step of the RepositoryExport Phase (Doc ID 2194453.1)

Last updated on APRIL 14, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Commerce Guided Search / Oracle Commerce Experience Manager - Version 11.2 and later
Oracle Commerce Platform - Version 11.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On an Oracle Commerce Platform with Guided Search 11.2 application, indexing slows down during the ProductCatalogOutputConfig stage of indexing.

It appears to be driven by the overall CAS performance, and is intermittent in nature.

In one practical example, the normal time for a complete index (RepositoryExport to CAS, and EndecaIndexing steps) is around two hours.

However, intermittently, the indexing time balloons to more than five hours.

Future attempts to index take this five hour duration, until the CAS service is restarted.

After a CAS restart, the indexing process returns to its normal duration of two hours.

The primary period of slow operation is observed in data loading to CAS RecordStores, part of the ProductCatalogOutputConfig step of the RepositoryExport stage during indexing.
