Enhancement Request - Confirmation Message in Convergence When Using Spam Report Button (Doc ID 2205454.1)

Last updated on MARCH 21, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergence - Version 3.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Having Convergence configured so that it makes use of the 'Spam' button.

When marking one or multiple mail message(s) as 'Spam', it is seen that the operation is done without asking for confirmation from the user.

It is expected to have a confirmation message implemented that requests the user to confirm that they really want to mark the selected message(s) as 'Spam'.

The intention of having this feature is to add a layer of security for subscribers (many of those being elderly people who are not the most tech-savvy) who can accidentally mark a message as 'Spam' by accident, resulting in them calling technical support for assistance, which brings added load to the team.

It is also expected that this feature could be turned on or off by Convergence configuration, depending on the needs of different customers using this feature.

In a sample environment, all user-reported spam are reviewed by the "Abuse" team and they often get false positives due to the user mistakenly reporting Spam, which leads to wasted time for them. It is believed that by adding this warning, one can reduce the amount of false positives that the "Abuse" team receives.
