Symptoms
On Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (NCC) version 5.0.2, there is an issue with the Voucher and Wallet server (VWS) resynchronisation after an interruption.
In case the Charge on Reservation Timeout is enabled for that call scenario, issue causes multiple charges for the same call, one for each subsequent reservation. E.g. if the call duration was originally 6 minutes with reservation chunk 60 seconds, there will be 6 charges for the subscriber with increasing durations (60s, 120s, 180s, ...).
This symptom can be observed in the call EDRs, one per charge will be generated with the following tag: TIMED_OUT=TRUE
Changes
Scenario occurs when one of the VWS's is the same pair is disconnected for a period of time and both servers have to resync. Billing configuration has to be configured with the Charge on Reservation Timeout option enabled.
