Last updated on OCTOBER 12, 2023
Applies to:
Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management - Version 8.3.2.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
When attempting to login to P6 Professional (utilizing LDAP SSL), after entering the username and password and selecting OK, a third party data-card access or Microsoft Smart Card access prompt displays.
- If the "Cancel" button is repeatedly selected, the message will eventually go away and allow P6 Professional to connect and login against the P6 EPPM database.
- If the proper password is entered and authenticated, the message will stop displaying and allow P6 Professional authentication to proceed as well.
Occasionally, before the smart card authentication window is displayed, the login operation will hang at "Connecting to Database..." and does not succeed.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
User should be able to login to P6 Professional successfully, without the application hanging and/or triggering a smart card authentication.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Launch P6 Professional.
- Enter the username and password.
- Attempt Login and note one of the following behaviors:
a) application hangs and the login window header bar displays "Connecting to database..."
b) the smart card authentication occurs.
Due to this issue, users cannot login to P6 Professional
