Symptoms

When attempting to run a custom report directly from BIP, the following errors occur.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to BIP
  2. Open the custom report to run it
  3. Error is displayed "oracle.xdo.servlet.CreateException: oracle.xdo.servlet.CreateException: oracle.xdo.servlet.CreateException: java.lang.NullPointerException"
  4. Click on the name of the report in Catalog
  5. Error is displayed "Invalid template name.: template ="
