Query on Tax Inclusive Prices in BRM (Doc ID 2228927.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 08, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.5.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The user needs to support the tax inclusive pricing as a regulatory requirement. As of today, the pricing is tax exclusive, and Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) calculates real time tax via a call to Vertex. The tax is recorded as a separate balance impact in the charged event and accordingly reported in the invoice and general ledger (GL).

The new country's requirement is that customers will be presented a tax inclusive price for the offerings. However, rest of the functionality (reporting of tax in the invoice and GL) must remain as is. E.g. if a product is configured to charge 11$ (tax inclusive), user should have capability of breaking this into pre-tax (10$) and tax (1$) assuming the 10% tax rate. The breakup of net amount to pre-tax and tax amounts will be provided by GST/Vertex. However, user needs the capability in BRM to record these impacts post the breakup.

Please suggest if BRM supports this capability. If not, is there any road-map to support this in future? Please also help with your suggestion on how to customize BRM to support this (if possible at all)?
