Markup % on the ITEMMASTER Screen Is Calculating off of Unit Cost Rather Than Unit ELC (Doc ID 2239958.1)

Last updated on JUNE 22, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Merchandising System - Version 15.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When creating or viewing existing items within the ITEMMASTER (Item Maintenance)  screen, the calculated Markup % is calculating off of the Unit Cost rather than the Unit ELC (Estimated Landed Cost).

The current calculation within the user interface, using Unit Cost is: (Unit Retail - Unit Cost)/Unit Retail = Markup %
Calculation using Unit ELC should be: (Unit Retail - Unit ELC)/Unit Retail = Markup %

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create an item, with 10.00 cost and enter expenses for it, and return to Item Maintenance form, prior to navigating to Retail By Zone and selecting from there the values on the Item Maintenance form are:

Unit ELC: 12:00 Markup %: 20.00
Standard Unit Retail: 12.50
Standard Unit Retail: 15.00
Selling Unit Retail: 15.00
Markup %: 20.00
Currency: USD

2. Back at Item Maintenance screen now seeing the following values:

Unit ELC: 12.00 Markup %: 33.33
Standard Unit Retail: 12.50

The calculations are as follows:

(Unit Retail 15.00 – Unit Cost 10.00)/Unit Retail 15.00 = 33.33
(Unit Retail 15.00 – Unit ELC 12.00)/Unit Retail 15.00 = 20.00
