On : 8.0.1 version

The SMTP service is unknown to the Dispatcher and cannot be restarted.

This works on most systems:

/gcs/app/mail/imsadmin$ sudo imsimta restart smtp

The SMTP service is unknown to the Dispatcher and cannot be restarted.

We were able to do: sudo imsimta restart , but after that, trying to restart only smtp gives the above error.

/gcs/app/mail/imsadmin$ msconfig show dispatcher
role.dispatcher.max_procs = 10
role.dispatcher.service:SMTP.enable = 1
role.dispatcher.service:SMTP.image = /gcs/app/mail/imsadmin/tcp-smtp-server-wrapper
role.dispatcher.service:SMTP.tcp_ports = 25
role.dispatcher.service:SMTP_SUBMIT.enable = 1
role.dispatcher.service:SMTP_SUBMIT.parameter = CHANNEL=tcp_submit
role.dispatcher.service:SMTP_SUBMIT.tcp_ports = 587

 


root@mail[bin] # ./stop-msg dispatcher
Connecting to watcher ...
Stopping dispatcher server 431 .... done
root@mail[bin] # ./imsimta restart smtp
Unable to restart SMTP service; cannot connect to Dispatcher: No such file or directory
