Error 'Keystore in keystore folder does not contain the original key that was used for encrypting the database credentials' When Attempting to Configure P6 Using the EPPM Configuration Wizard or Database Setup Wizard (Doc ID 2293638.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to configure P6 using the EPPM Configuration Wizard or Database Configuration Wizard, the following error occurs:

Error: Keystore in keystore folder does not contain the original key that was used for encrypting the database credentials.
Please ensure you provide a folder which contains a valid p6keystore.jks and its associated p6kspass.pwffile.
If a p6keystore.jks file was not used, leave the Keystore Folder field blank.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Launch the P6 EPPM Configuration Wizard (<P6 EPPM home>\eppmconfig.cmd).
  2. In the Database Configuration section select either Create a new P6 EPPM database or Connect to an existing P6 EPPM database then click Next.
  3. Enter the database connection details then click Next.
  4. Observe the reported error.

  5. Launch the Database Setup Wizard (<P6 EPPM installation media>\database\dbsetup.bat).
  6. Select either Install a new database or Upgrade an existing database then click Next.
  7. Enter the database connection details then click Next.
  8. Observe the reported error.
