Confusing /IN Directory Permissions in OC3C Install Guide (Doc ID 2354992.1)

Last updated on APRIL 12, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller - Version 6.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In the Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller version 6.0.1 the Installation Guide is confusing about the permissions of /IN directory.

Page 49 of Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control Installation Guide Release 6.0.1 (ncc_601_installation.pdf) states:

Run the following command to set the permissions for the /IN directory:
chmod 775 /IN
chown smf_oper:esg /IN

but at the bottom of the same page, it suggests far more insecure settings.

What permissions should /IN be set to?
