Goal
How To Drop Unused APCC Table Partitions To Deal With APCC Database Abnormal Growth.
Example of a Scenario:
Customer upgraded almost a year ago from 12.1.3 to 12.2.6.1 (VCP Patch 25074533)
After upgrade they have been experiencing continuous large growth in APCC Fact Tables of MSC Schemas.
Run SQL:
select * from dba_segments where owner in ('MSC','DEMANTRA') ORDER BY BYTES
Example: See very large Byte size of MSC_ITEM_INVENTORY_F
Run "Cleanup Instance Partitions" Concurrent Program
Advanced Supply Chain Planner -> Other -> Request -> Submit a Request ->
Single Request
Search for "Cleanup Instance Partition"
Parameters:
Mode = Repair
This did not help, they keep running the above program as scheduled, but DB growth continues.
