Calculation Of Resource Requirements (Doc ID 2411682.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 03, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Materials Requirement Planning - Version 12.2.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After running an MRP Plan, it is found that the Required Hours in Resource Requirements is not showing the correct value.

For Work Orders where resource transactions already exist, the MRP calculation of the remaining resource requirements is not correct.

The expectation is that Required Hours in MRP should be calculated as a product of resource rate and the quantity of products that still need to be processed on the operation.
=(Resource rate) * (operation SCHEDULED_QUANTITY- operation QUANTITY_COMPLETED -QUANTITY_SCRAPPED on previous operations)

This is how the calculation of required hours was being calculated in 11i.

However this calculation is not being adhered to in 12.2.5 version

It looks like in R12, the Required Hours for a Resource is just calculated as the difference between Open Hours and Applied hours for that operation.
