Enforcing Unique Values for Mail Attributes (Doc ID 2441366.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Messaging Server uses following mail attributes to identify User’s / Group's email address and alternate email address:

■ mail
■ mailAlternateAddress
■ mailEquivalentAddress

Each User’s / Group's mail attribute should be unique across the Directory.

If, lets say mailAlternateAddress is not unique, Messaging Server generates the following error when trying to deliver the message to this address:
