(Doc ID 2460701.1)
Last updated on APRIL 10, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.5.0.20.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
On: 7.5.0.20.0 version, Core Billing
Scenario :
- After upgrading from Billing and Revenue Management (BRM) 7.5 PatchSet (PS) 12 to 7.5 PS 20, running billing with command "pin_bill_accts -pay_type 10007" is considerably slower than on 7.5 PS 12 (almost 46% performance declined).
- On analyzing the Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) reports and the costliest SQL statement, it is observed that there is different execution plan for the SQL statement between PS12 and PS20.
- The execution plan in PS20 uses index I_EVENT_BILLING_PROD_OBJ__ID which does not exist in PS12 environment.
- After dropping this index in PS20, "pin_bill_accts -pay_type 10007" performance is comparable with that in PS12
Question:
What is the reason behind this behavior and how to resolve it?
