Copy And Paste Changes Hyphens Into Non-Breaking Hypens/Special Characters That Distort The String (Doc ID 2474577.1)

Last updated on MAY 31, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Utilities Framework - Version 4.3.0.4.0 to 4.3.0.5.0 [Release 4.3]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

With the implementation of this <Bug 25458441> - INFO STRING WITH SPACE AND HYPHEN IN MONEY AND DATES WRAPS IN SERVICE ZONES, when the customer copies an External Id in the format (1-123C456) from OU ORS display map to another application, the copied data now has a non breaking hyphen in it and not the original normal hyphen.  This new string is not accurate and impacts cases where the original string needs to be used for searching.

In a more generic OUFW case, go to the application:
1. Go to Batch Run Tree Page
2. Search for a record
3. Copy the date-time value and paste it in notepad++

Actual Result: The breaking hyphens in between the date numerics are copied as non-breaking hyphens in notepad++ and looks like special characters.

Expected Result: The non-breaking hyphens should be copied as breaking hyphens so that the data matches.
